2010, Barb Ustina, Producer, Discovery Channel Canada's 'Daily Planet':
"Ande Schurr is one of the best sound men I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. He joined our 3-person Discovery Channel crew for a whirlwind three-week road trip through New Zealand. Technically he’s top notch and personally he’s up for any challenge thrown his way even if it means thrashing through gnarly bush for 12 kms trying to track down one of the country’s rare Kiwi birds. It so refreshing to work with someone who is totally committed to being the best possible. I highly recommend him."
TV COMMERCIALS:
2010, Nic Finlayson, Director, Film Construction, ALAC (Alcohol Advisory Counci) series of TV commerials:
"We had the pleasure of working with Ande on this recent ALAC campaign. Non-typical in the commercial arena, the job asked for wall to wall dialogue. Location choices, film approach and schedule meant that Ande had a very tough job delivering such excellent material. The commercials success relies on believable performance, and this performance is very well recorded indeed. Thanks Ande."
FILM DRAMA:
2009, Nick Copus, British Director, 'ICE', UK/NZ co-production, 4 hour 2 part Mini-Series featuring Richard Roxburgh, Frances O'Connor, Sam Neill:
"Ande was from the moment I met him the most personable and energetic sound recordist I had ever worked with. He offered exactly the support I require on set from sound, focused on whatever we were shooting and specific in his requests and needs. Making me aware of his requirements without slowing down the process or compromising the sound. I would happily work with Ande anytime."
NB: I was the Second Unit Sound Mixer and relieving Main Unit Mixer for Chris Hiles during the Wanaka leg of the filming.

Ande Schurr is a passionate and committed sound recordist for local and international commercials, documentaries and feature length dramas. His work has introduced him to many people from a great range of cultures and this has given him the ability to work alongside all people in complete rapport, regardless of the production's approach and demands.
The Discovery Channel producer of the Canadian flagship series 'Daily Planet', Barb Ustina, called Ande "one of the best sound men I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with", while Emmy Award and Director’s Guild of America Award nominated filmmaker, Ron Oliver, called Ande's feature film work "exemplary, with his remarkable skill in recording dialog and sound saving us hours in post-production".
Ande has also recorded sound on many of the current commercials in NZ including the ALAC 'Ease up on the Drink' TV campaign which received praise from its Director, Film Construction's Nic Finlayson - "The commercials success relies on believable performance, and this performance is very well recorded indeed".
